Activities
Stroll around Noyers and take in the mediaeval architecture, or enjoy a an evening stroll along the riverbank.  If you’re feeling energetic, walk up the ramparts to the ruined castle and take a bird’s eye view of the town.  The Gothic church is worth a look too.  During the summer in Noyers there are numerous concerts and theatre with strolling players, but keep up to date by visiting the Tourist Office in the main square.
Further a field, you can play tennis at Tanlay, or go walking by the canal.  Have a day out on a houseboat, go fishing or swimming in the nearby rivers and lakes.  There is mountain biking over the 500 km of marked out tracks maintained by the National Forest Office.  Better still, why not try a cycling or walking excursion along the wine and cheese routes?
Play golf at the 9 hole golf course in the park of the Tanlay Chateau; or try the lovely 18 hole golf course at Chaource, 40 minutes drive. From Tanlay, if you follow the Burgundy canal you will come close to the nature reserve where many birds take refuge or stop to rest during the great migrations. Discover the Circuit des Lavoirs (wash houses) from Ancy Le Franc.
