Restaurant
de la Vieille Tour The
restaurant is run by a young couple who know their stuff. You might
notice that there is the 'Hotel de la Vieille Tour', well the chef is
the son of the hotel owner. The food is excellent, and is praised highly by guests at La Petite Poche.
If you do visit, take his advice on the choice of wine to accompany your meal -
there are some excellent local wines at their disposal and all at very good
prices - set menu's priced at 15 and 18 Euro per person.
Les Millésimes Opened in March 2007, the restaurant has been a long time
ambition of the owners of the charcuterie in Noyers. Now it's here, the
gastronomic bar has been raised. We agree entirely with our guest's view:
"The
Vieille Tour was full when we tried to go, so went to the newly opened
Millésimes (entrance via alley) instead. Very friendly service, exquisite
presentation and lovely food, if a little pricey. Not quite the rustic
French country experience, but very good all the same. The Marquise
cocktail is a wonderfully refreshing aperitif for a nice summer's
evening!" Christina & Gavin - July 2007
During our visit in August, we met
our neighbours from the Moulin de la roche who said that a good many locals
frequent the restaurant - always a good sign.
If you choose to dine at either of these two on the weekend, you will be well advised to book to book in advance.

L'Etape Nucerienne Now feeling the effects of the competition, is up for sale.
Meanwhile, the enterprising lady at the Vival mini-mart offers lunchtime snacks and drinks in the outside space.

La
Beausidiere, Nitry Still difficult to beat. This
is probably the 'rustic French country' cuisine that Christina was
expecting. The food here is excellent and represents very good value for
money. Service is friendly and efficient. 6.5 miles from Noyers, a good choice for a long
relaxing Sunday lunch.

Friday Night is Pizza night in
Noyers. If you still long for fast food, the Pizza Man parks up just past
the newsagents. He is there after 6pm up til about 9 - 9:30
If you're out and about or wish to make a special journey, here's an excellent choice. We are indebted to our guests Keith & Mary for putting us on to Restaurant de l'ecluse.
Thirteen miles from Noyers, a lovely drive through the villages of Censy and Pasilly will bring you to Chasignelles on the Burgundy canal.

For 11.50 Euro per head you can enjoy the menu du jour including a quarter bottle of wine.
In the direction of Chablis is St. Vertu. The hotel restaurant is frequented by locals but makes for a pleasant change of scene with it's mill.

Three menu's are on offer with prices at 12, 20 and 30 Euro's.
The food is very good although there is a hushed, almost reverent atmosphere in the restaurant...
Why not look at some of the restaurants further afield...
